My very first granny crochet square blanket!
I finished my very first granny square crochet blanket!, can you believe it?, I have been crocheted for many (many!) years and I never made one.
Surely I could not call myself a crochet designer if I didn’t owned my own granny square blanket.
I wanted to make a lap/come to picnic blanket size, something I can enjoy indoors but it will also be okay to take on a picnic. For this reason, I chose an acrylic yarn, a very durable yarn that wouldn’t break the bank either. This yarn is from Style Craft, and it comes in some really bright colours, I used their Special DK (it is a lightweight worsted yarn).
I only picked 4 colours and made 12 big granny squares picking and changing the colours totally at random, just as the mood took me.
(Excuse the monkey) I wanted to give the seams some texture so using my favourite colour I joined them with a raised hdc.
I am not sure what is it called but it should be anything like shocking pink! or something like that!, since this was a homage to granny squares, the border is also granny squares!
The monkey AKA Eva wasn’t done, she wanted to show you all that you could wrap yourself with it and also cuddle up with it! 🙂
