Embroidery hook upcycled cloth art
Recently I have been having lots of fun making upcycled cloth embroidery hoop art with discarded pieces of textiles. Making wall art by creating fabric from pieces of unloved old table cloths. Giving textiles a second life as art.
For this particular hoop, I sawn together a few remnants of old table cloths. I decided to follow the original white embroidery on the cloth and highlight it with rainbow colour threads.
I used mainly contemporaneous stitching as a result I was able to create a fresh look.
This piece have many french knots seems like pixelated fabric.
I am very happy with the result of this piece. There are so many possibilities you can do with textiles that will otherwise be thrown away. Rubbish never looked this good.
